THE BACKGROUND
Centre for Jatropha Promotion & Biodiesel (CJP) is
pleased to announce the 2 Day Jojoba State of Art International Workshop viz.
Global Jojoba World – 2013 to be held on 30-31,
July, 2013 at Jaipur, India. India ranks 3rd after USA and Argentina in
growing Jojoba in desert of Rajasthan and thereby enjoying dominant position in
the World Jojoba Scenario. The global Jojoba Products market estimated to be
over US$ 2.0 billion is highly dependent on India. CJP in its attempt to bring
the Jojoba fraternity together is organizing this International workshop to
deliberate and focus on the growing and harvesting Jojoba. This 2 days
International workshop will also provide a unique opportunity for open
discussions & exchange of views about the issues pertaining to Jojoba
business
ABOUT JOJOBA
Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis) is an evergreen perennial
bush that is native to the hot arid areas of northern Mexico and south western
United States. The jojoba plant grows to
3–4 meters, reaches maximum yield around 15 years after planting and can live for
200 years. The oil produced from jojoba
seed consists almost entirely of liquid wax esters that are suited to use in
cosmetics, waxes and high pressure lubricants.
Currently, about 80 per cent of jojoba oil production is used in
cosmetics.
